IoT & Agritech: Revolutionizing the Future of Farming

Maryland Blockchain Association (www.marylandblockchainassociation.org) & Blockchain Legal Institute, in collaboration with esteemed partners, hosted the first BLI Innovative Legal Tech Series: “IoT and Agritech: Revolutionizing the Future of Farming.” The Summit explored how IoT-enabled devices, data analytics, and blockchain technology is driving efficiency, sustainability, and transparency in modern farming practices.

This dynamic event  delved into how these innovations address critical challenges in food security, resource management, and supply chain traceability. Attendees gained insights into cutting-edge agritech solutions transforming the farming industry, real-world IoT applications enhancing agricultural productivity, and the pivotal role of blockchain in securing and tracking agricultural data.

Featured Speakers Included:

Jacqueline Cooper:  Blockchain Legal Expert, Founder & CEO of Maryland Blockchain Association, discussing blockchain’s role in enhancing transparency and trust in agriculture.

Greg Leifel: Founder & Executive Director, Virginia Blockchain Council, Sustainability Advocate and Agritech Specialist, focusing on how IoT can improve resource management and environmental practices.

Mike Wise: IoT Sandbox Founder/Rainmaker, convening the 1st Annual “On The Edge” Annual Meeting in May 2025 and subsequent “On The Edge” Reverse Pitch Series in Cleveland.

This event focused on insights into how IoT and agritech are solving real-world challenges in agriculture,  the intersection of IoT, blockchain, and agriculture, and exploring strategies for adopting smart technologies in an agricultural practices or business.
