FBI Internet Crimes – IC3

In our increasingly digital world, protecting our digital assets is more crucial than ever. Here are some key steps to safeguard your valuable online information:

  1. Use strong, unique passwords for all accounts and enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) wherever possible.
  2. Regularly back up your data to secure, encrypted locations – both cloud-based and on external hard drives.
  3. Keep all software and systems updated to patch security vulnerabilities.
  4. Be cautious of phishing attempts and suspicious links. Verify the source before clicking or sharing information.
  5. Implement robust access controls, limiting permissions to only those who need them.
  6. Encrypt sensitive data, both in storage and during transmission.
  7. Use reputable antivirus and anti-malware software, and keep it updated.
  8. Be mindful of the information you share online and on social media.
  9. Educate yourself and your team about current cybersecurity threats and best practices.
  10. Consider cyber insurance to protect against potential losses from digital threats.

Remember, protecting our digital assets is an ongoing process. Stay vigilant, stay informed, and let’s work together to keep our digital community safe.

As we become aware of tools for our community, we will be sharing. If you are not aware of the IC3, this is another place to report Cybercrime.

Staying safe online is more important than ever. From shopping and banking to connecting with loved ones, we rely on a secure digital world. But cybercriminals are constantly attacking, targeting everyone from major corporations to personal smartphones.

That’s where the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) comes in. Run by the FBI, the IC3 is the central hub for reporting cyber-enabled crime.

Why Report to the IC3?

Help the FBI fight cybercrime: Your report provides valuable information that helps the FBI investigate crimes, track trends, and even freeze stolen funds.
Protect yourself and others: Reporting helps the IC3 understand the broader threat landscape and share reports with law enforcement partners nationwide.
Make a difference: Even if you don’t receive a direct response, your submission is taken seriously and contributes to a stronger, more secure digital world.

If you’ve been a victim of cyber-enabled fraud, scams, or other cybercrimes, file a report with the IC3. Your contribution can help protect our digitally connected world.
