More than 30 countries are actively advancing electric vehicle (EV) adoption—and many are now integrating blockchain solutions to further streamline payments, energy management, and infrastructure growth.
Electric vehicles (EVs) are accelerating towards mass adoption worldwide, with more than 30 nations spanning Asia, Europe, North America, Latin America, and beyond supporting the transition to greener transport. China leads the charge, boasting more than 20 million EVs on the road and accounting for over half of new global battery EV registrations this year. The United States, Germany, and Norway are among the frontrunners, each implementing policies and incentives ranging from tax credits to public charging stations—with Norway nearing 100% EV sales for new vehicles.
Emerging regions, including India, Brazil, and Southeast Asia, are rapidly scaling up infrastructure and incentive programs to catch up with global leaders. Governments are introducing measures such as production subsidies and fossil-fuel phaseout deadlines to spur adoption.
At the heart of this momentum is the ongoing digital transformation in the sector. DeCharge, in partnership with the Maryland Blockchain Association (MDBA) and the MD Task Force, is inviting Maryland property owners, business operators, and licensed electricians to a special virtual event on September 12 at 4:00 PM.
The session will introduce opportunities to participate in DeCharge’s community-owned EV charging network and will spotlight how local hosts and electricians can earn income by helping expand Maryland’s clean transportation infrastructure.
The virtual event is open to all interested hosts and licensed electricians.
