Bybit consolidates its partnership with the Uganda blockchain community
On 13th September 2025, over 100 blockchain enthusiasts gathered at the Bybit Kampala meetup in Uganda. The event was organized by Chasing Ma, experts in empowering blockchain innovation across Africa.
Based in Dubai, Bybit is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, serving over 76 million users in 241 countries, with a daily average trading volume of $30 billion. Bybit offers spot and derivatives trading products.
Participants at the Kampala Bybit meetup included P2P merchants, content creators, students, blockchain enthusiasts and developers, IT professionals, founders, startup owners, crypto and forex traders, and newbies to blockchain technology.
The participants at the meetup were taken through Bybit P2P trading. P2P merchants were provided with insights into building sustainable businesses while connecting with peers in Uganda’s growing digital finance ecosystem.
Content creators were shown how to collaborate and earn through the Bybit Affiliate Program. The participants shared their experience in using the Bybit platform. They also offered suggestions for improving the Bybit platform.
Bybit exchange faced a security breach in February 2025, when the crypto exchange was hacked, resulting in a loss of approximately $1.5 billion worth of cryptocurrencies. The hack occurred from a vulnerability in a third-party wallet, which was exploited through a user interface manipulation attack. Following the hack, Bybit replenished its reserves through a mix of emergency funding and large deposits from firms such as Galaxy Digital, FalconX, and Wintermute.
Bybit has been at the forefront of blockchain innovation through its product offering. Bybit TradeFi allows users to trade forex and CFDs (Contracts for Difference) on multiple devices. Bybit’s Web3 wallet offers access to the decentralized web.
The Bybit Card, currently available in select regions, allows users to pay using crypto and supported fiat currencies at millions of locations worldwide. Bybit OTC trading allows instant settlement of large trades at competitive prices. Bybit also offers a personalized wealth management service for its high-net-worth clients.
The Bybit Islamic account offers Shariah-compliant products and services like spot trading, the Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) trading Bot, and the spot Grid Bot. Bybit Launchpad allows users in eligible countries to gain early access to tokens from promising projects.
Bybit offers institutional and enterprise clients spot and derivative trading products, as well as custodial and asset management solutions. Bybit is leveraging strategic partnerships to enhance global institutional adoption of blockchain technology.
In a September 17, 2025, press statement, Bybit announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, Vietnam, the Abu Dhabi Blockchain Center (ADBC), and Verichains to support Vietnam’s ambitions of becoming an international finance and innovation hub.
According to another press statement dated September 9, 2025, Bybit announced another strategic partnership with Sygnum, a global digital asset banking group, to offer institutional clients secure, off-exchange custody services through the Sygnum Protect platform, expanding its network of trusted custody partners.
With a rapidly evolving global blockchain landscape, Bybit exchange is strengthening its partnership with the blockchain community in Uganda.
